Snowworld Landgraaf June Snowboard/Ski Training Camp Recap

Taking advantage of a discounted stay at SnowWorld Hotel, Da Bai organized a fun and productive weekend training camp.

Our group of 20+ participants, including skiers / snowboarders from the Netherlands and Germany (even one who took the train all the way from Frankfurt!), all gained new skills and experiences.

Despite unexpected challenges—like the nationwide NS strike—everyone persevered, finding alternative transport (shoutout to FlixBus for the €20 one-way ticket to Aachen! Pro tip: Don’t forget your passport/ID). The bus was comfy with charging ports and tables, though a €3 seat reservation is wise to avoid motion sickness from backward-facing seats.

After two intense days of training, the camp wrapped up with new friendships, improved techniques, and tons of stoke—great job, everyone! Now, let’s relive the trip through some highlights!

Public Transport

Due to the nationwide NS strike, we had to take a FlixBus to Aachen – turns out it was quite budget-friendly at just €20 one-way! (Pro tip: Don't forget your passport/ID).

The bus was supposed to depart at 6:00 PM but only arrived in Rotterdam by 7:00 PM. Overall, the ride was comfortable with charging ports and fold-down tables. If you're prone to motion sickness, it's worth spending an extra €3 to reserve a forward-facing seat – getting stuck in a backward-facing one can be uncomfortable!

Late-Night Arrival & Taxi Transfer

We arrived at Aachen Bus Station at 10:40 PM and hopped into pre-booked taxis to SnowWorld Landgraaf—super convenient at just €8-10 per person. By 11:00 PM, we finally made it to the hotel!

After all the travel chaos, what better way to unwind than with a well-deserved drink. Cheers to the start of an epic ski weekend!

(Pro tip: Pre-arranging taxis saves time, especially for late arrivals!)

早餐

All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast at SnowWorld – €18 Well Spent!

Fuel up for a day on the slopes with SnowWorld’s breakfast buffet (€18) featuring:🍣 Smoked salmon | 🥐 Fresh croissants | ☕ Coffee/Orange juice🌭 Sausages | 🥞 Fluffy pancakes | 🍳 Scrambled eggs

Pro Tip for Season Pass Holders: Don’t forget your ONE free daily breakfast —it’s included with your annual membership!

Ski & Snowboard Training Camp Highlights

Two days of intensive training – covering beginner & intermediate groups for both skiing and snowboarding!

🏂 Snowboard Groups

  • Beginners: By Day 1, they were linking S-turns down the advanced slope! By Day 2, their runs became smoother and more controlled.

  • Intermediate Riders: Huge improvements in posture, speed, and confidence—finally riding with flow and style!

⛷ Ski Groups

  • Beginners: Even if a bit wobbly, everyone made it down the advanced slope by the end of camp—big win!

  • Advanced Skiers: Major progress in turn precision and speed control, unlocking a whole new level of carving.

Every student pushed their limits and conquered their own "mountain" – proud of this squad! 🚀

Closing Words

What an unforgettable weekend at SnowWorld Landgraaf! From battling unexpected travel chaos to celebrating breakthroughs on the slopes, this training camp was all about perseverance, progress, and stoke.

Whether you were carving your first turns or refining advanced techniques, every drop of sweat paid off. The real victory? Watching this crew push limits, cheer each other on, and leave with new skills + friendships.

A huge shoutout to all the coaches and participants for making it epic—proof that passion and teamwork turn challenges into triumphs. Until next time… keep shredding, keep smiling, and we’ll see you on the mountain! 🎿✨
