You Became Part of Dabai — And It Became Part of You

Dabai, Because of You | Everyone Who Came Has Left Their Mark

As a community operator, we often face farewells.

Some leave because they graduate. Some step away due to career changes. Others simply slow down, or move toward a broader horizon. This coming and going is a natural part of life. But only when someone truly leaves do you realize — the moments they were part of have already, quietly, become part of the community itself.

A Real Story from a Volunteer

Many people ask what it’s like to be a volunteer in Dabai’s events team. Honestly, it’s simple, yet incredibly fulfilling.

I had never done event planning before. At my first meeting, I was completely lost, and really admired how clear and structured everyone else’s thinking was. Gradually, I learned by following along and became familiar with the whole process. Every time I saw 20 or 30 people enjoying themselves and making new friends, I felt a deep sense of accomplishment. I even started bringing my own friends along.

What touched me most was working alongside the team — it felt like a small family. Dabai even customized volunteer outfits for us. Taking photos together between activities felt just like being in a college club — simple, but genuinely joyful.

This experience didn’t just teach me new skills; it gave me warmth and a real sense of belonging. It’s a memory I’ll always treasure.

What Does It Mean to Be a Dabai Volunteer?

People often ask, “What do Dabai volunteers actually do?”

If I had to sum it up in one sentence:

It’s about building something that brings people joy — from 0 to 1, together.

But once you step into the role, you’ll realize it’s far more than just “helping out.”

What Does the Work Look Like?

We have a short online meeting once a week, about an hour. It’s fast-paced but relaxed — we skip small talk and get straight to the point.

At the beginning of each year, we do something important: we plan the entire year’s activities.

We divide the year into four quarters and design one event per quarter. Everyone brainstorms — where to go, what to do, what new ideas to try. Every idea gets recorded, then refined and filtered until it becomes an executable plan.

Once a plan is finalized, we move into the “execution phase.”

A small team of 4–5 people takes on different roles:

Some handle posters and promotion

Some manage registrations and payments

Some prepare materials and coordinate with venues

On the event day, everyone supports execution on-site

Afterward, we review and reflect together

It’s a complete loop — from idea to execution.

Volunteers Are Not Just “Doers”

We’ve always been clear about one thing:

Volunteers are not just executors — they are co-creators.

People here don’t just take on tasks; they:

Decide together what we want to create

Turn ideas into reality together

Share the fulfillment of a successful event

Shape the culture of the community

For many, this is their first exposure to event planning, teamwork, and project management. For others, it’s a place where they rediscover a sense of connection.

A Few Words for Her

Since that membership email on June 29, 2022, a journey with Dabai began.

What started as a simple joining gradually became something much more. From a beginner skier to earning an instructor certification; from participant to training team leader; from attending events to organizing and planning them.

You contributed to and drove many beloved events. Through teaching, organizing, and connecting people, your patience, thoughtfulness, and sincerity influenced more and more people around you. Whether on the slopes or behind the scenes, you helped others find their place within Dabai.

At some point, you stopped being just a participant — and became a true builder.

Do you remember the question from your application: “What do you hope to gain from joining Dabai?”

Your answer was: “To meet a better version of myself.”

Looking back now, that answer has come true — step by step — and taken on a much more tangible meaning.

Thank you for everything you’ve given during this journey. Though this is a temporary farewell, we believe this experience will remain a part of you, shaping every path you take moving forward.

May you continue to grow, and continue to be warmth and strength in others’ journeys.

Enjoy every ride in life.

If You’re Wondering: Should You Join?

If you’ve made it this far and feel even the slightest spark of interest — that might already be your answer.

Becoming a volunteer doesn’t mean you need to have everything figured out or bring specific skills from the start. What matters more is your willingness to take part, to show up, and to build something together.

Everything else, we can figure out along the way.

Feel free to write to info@dabaisnowclub.com and tell us a bit about your thoughts — we’d love to have you join us.
