Last weekend, skiers from the Netherlands and neighboring countries gathered at Landgraaf.
This is the largest number of participants in the history of the Landgraaf training camp.
Before setting off, everyone was looking forward to skiing. But at the end, what they took away was not just improved skills.
01 | From "Coming Alone" to "Sking & snowboarding Together"
Some people were participating in the event for the first time and were worried before setting off that they wouldn't know anyone.
But as soon as we arrived at the ski resort, we were enthusiastically pulled into different small groups.
We rode together on the sled, discussed the moves, and shared our gear.
They encouraged each other on the slopes and continued to team up and exchange ideas off the slopes.
Skiing is no longer a solitary sport, but a process of natural connection.
02|The Continuation from Ski Resort to Dining Table
After training, everyone spontaneously decided to go out for food together.
Some people guide you to restaurants, some make reservations, and others share their "secret food maps."
The conversation expanded from skiing to work, from life in Europe to travel plans.
Many people who were strangers to each other became true friends after a weekend.
03|The unseen but most important details
What is most impressive is often not the training itself, but the subtle but genuine mutual support.
During skiing, bumps and bruises or discomfort are inevitable, and there will always be someone to hand you your medication immediately.
When you encounter a problem, you only need to say one sentence in the group, and someone will respond very quickly.
This atmosphere is hard to define in a single sentence—it's like traveling with friends, or like a small team you can rely on at any time.
04 | A specially designed teaching surprise
There was also a special arrangement during this training camp that added an extra highlight to the entire weekend.
We invited Benni Walch, a senior ski instructor and examiner from Arlberg, Austria, to participate in the exchange and guidance, bringing students technical perspectives and training understandings from different systems.
This special arrangement is to allow everyone to access a higher level and a more international skiing experience system.
Many skiers, after learning about his background, said:
"I never knew I could meet coaches and examiners of this caliber from such a distance."
It brings not only a sense of novelty, but also an expansion of training methods and understanding of skiing.

05 | About growth, and also about relationships
Some have made significant progress in their skills. Some have found stable ski partners. Some have made new friends. And some have already started planning their next trip to the skis.
This is precisely what makes the Big White event so special:
We met because of skiing, but the reason we stayed was often more than just skiing itself.
06|Acknowledgements
Thank you to everyone who came to Landgraaf ❤️
At the next event, let's go on the snow together, eat together, and improve together, continuing to make the ski community in the Netherlands and even Europe more lively and warmer.
